Specific PID conditions

It is our aim to provide in-depth information on specific primary immunodeficiency conditions including details on inheritance, symptoms and diagnosis, and the treatments available.

We will be working with our medical advisory panel and patient representative panel to add details on many more conditions.

Primary antibody deficiencies

The most common group of primary immunodeficiencies is primary antibody deficiencies. They result from the failure by your immune system to produce sufficient antibodies in the bloodstream to fight infections, particularly those caused by bacteria. To date we have information on the primary antibody deficiencies:

• Common Variable Immune Deficiency (CVID)
• Selective IgA deficiency
• X-linked agammaglobulinemia (XLA)
• Hyper IgM syndromes
• IgG subclass deficiencies
• Transient hypogammaglobulinemia

Well defined syndromes

These conditions are recognisable by particular clinical or immunological features.

• Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome

Combined immunodeficiencies

We have information on

• Combined immunodeficiency (CID) in children
• Severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) with condition specific information on: X-linked SCID and ADA-SCID.

Disorders of immune dysregulation

• Haemophagocytic lympho histiocytosis (HLH)
• Autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome (ALPS)
